One month to go! The World Architecture Festival 2022 revealed the programme of this year edition.
Now in its 15th year, the World Architecture Festival 2022 consist of three days of live conference programmes, awards, and fringe events, with talks by leading global architectural thinkers and industry personalities.
As media partner, from 30 November to 2 December 2022 in Lisbon we will have the chance to listen and learn from 76 International speakers & presenters across two stages and 495 Live pitches from the most renowned architectural firms in the World.
It will be three years since the global community of architects and designers have been able to meet in-person at WAF and INSIDE. This will be a year in which to consider how architecture is responding to the renewal of collective life post-pandemic, and in the light of commitments to combatting climate change.
Main Stage programme
Main Stage programme will host prominent architects such as Jean Mah, Principal, Health, Perkins&Will, Alastair Richardson, Principal director, COX Architecture, Ray Winkler, Design director, Stufish London, Ole Scheeren, Principal, Büro Ole Scheeren, Mario Cucinella, Founder, MCA – Mario Cucinella Architects, Christina Seilern, Principal, Studio Seilern, Marc Koehler, Founder, Marc Koehler Architects (MKA), Reinier de Graaf, Partner, OMA to name a few.
Speakers and panels will discuss a series of issues and conditions which relate to the collective use of architecture and public space in a variety of very different settings.
The sister festival of WAF, is Inside World Festival of Interiors. It takes place at the same time and location. Inside is a feast of creativity, inspiration and knowledge for the interiors industry. It is the only design awards where designers pitch their work to a panel of expert judges and their peers – all live at the festival in Lisbon.
World Architecture Festival live-judged awards programme
At the heart of the World Architecture Festival sits the unique live-judged awards programme. We are thrilled to listen to hundreds of world renowned architects from leading practices as well as up and coming designers presenting their selected projects and compete to be crowned winners by WAF2022 expert judging panels.
The 495-strong 2022 shortlist has been selected from hundreds of entries from over 50 countries, including Portugal, Malaysia, Finland, Mexico, China, Turkey, Australia, Japan, India, Germany, Denmark and the UK.
