The Scandinavian Awards 2024 unveiled the winners across seven categories: of the Year, Furniture of the Year, Designer of the Year, Interior Designer of the Year, Interior Design Product of the Year, Rising Star of the Year, and Sustainability Achievement of the Year. The awards, a collaboration between It Is Media and Stockholm Furniture Fair, celebrate outstanding contributions in architecture, interior design, and overall design in Scandinavia.

The distinguished jury, comprised of experts from the architecture and design industries in , , , and , meticulously selected the winners. The awards recognize both established figures and emerging talents, emphasizing innovation and excellence in the Scandinavian design landscape.

Halleroed, Sweden

Halleroed, a Swedish design agency founded in 1998, was celebrated for crafting not just functional spaces but destinations in themselves. Renowned for their boldness and innovation in interior design and architecture, Halleroed's unique approach challenges norms and creates extraordinary destinations that go beyond mere functionality.

Sustainability Award of the Year 2024

Home.Earth for Doughnut for Urban Development, Copenhagen, Denmark

Home.Earth was acknowledged as a true leader in real estate and urban development, pioneering a visionary framework rooted in inclusivity, social sustainability, and economic viability. The Sustainability Achievement of the Year was awarded for their commitment to industry innovation and sustainability.

Home.Earth and EFFEKT are co-editors of the publication Doughnut for Urban Development, which was developed through a collaborative effort between BUILD – Department of the Built Environment, DTU – Technical University of Denmark, Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL), Rådet for Bæredygtigt Byggeri, EFFEKT, Home.Earth, SLA, Sweco Architects Denmark, Stockholm Resilience Centre and Tegnestuen Vandkunsten.

Cecilie Manz, Denmark

Cecilie Manz, recognized as a multifaceted designer with a keen sense for materials, details, form, and function, was lauded for creating modern classics. Her designs, appearing effortlessly simple, conceal intricate engineering and meticulous craftsmanship, showcasing her deep understanding of design and production processes.

Interior Design Product of the Year 2024

Wine rack Silo by Chris Martin for Massproductions, Sweden

The jury commended the Silo Wine Rack as an elegant example of challenging design. Martin, co-founder of Massproductions, highlighted the interplay between object and context in the design, offering a unique and visually appealing solution for wine storage.

Rising Star of the Year Award 2024

Didi NG Wing Yin, Finland

Didi NG Wing Yin was recognized for the transformation of classic design into a contemporary expression, with a focus on woodworking. Her creations, both sculptural and functional, showcase a passion for woodworking, emphasizing the essence of wood and naturalness.

A jury of top names within the architecture and design industries in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland has selected the winners. Every member of the carefully chosen Scandinavian Design Awards 2024 jury has extensive experience within their own profession. The jury is chaired by architectural historian and writer Martin Rörby.
