The World Festival 2018 is the largest international gathering of architects consisting of an awards, conference and exhibition.  2018 takes place on the 28-30 November at RAI .

2018 has been a record breaking year, with the WAF and INSIDE awards receiving more entries than ever before. With entries from 81 countries, this year’s shortlist is made up of a truly international collection of projects. Among the shortlisted architecture firms at we can find great studios as and , we visited during our London Educational Tour, Grimshaw, Meccanoo, BIG-Bjarke Ingels Group, OMA – Office for Metropolitan Architecture, Woods Bagot to name a few, “unfortunately” among the 535 shortlisted projects from 81 countries there is not too much room for Italian projects and architecture firms… 

 

Our congrats goes to the awarded Bolzano (and Berlin) based architecture firm noa* network of architecture for their 3 stars superior KlimaHaus Zallinger: Back to the origins in Saltria, Italy shortlisted in the Hotel and Leasure Category and in the Best Use of Certified Timber Category. They are even shortlisted in the Mixed-Use Category for a Tyrolese traditional building typology: “Messner: A childhood dream comes true” the renaissance of the historic ‘Messner Haus’ in South Tyrol, Italy.

In the Civic and Community category we can find AOUMM + Legnolandia for their Save The Children Pavillion Expo Milan 2015 _ Refugee School Lebanon 2016, Italy / Lebanon (School delivery and additional design by Catalytic Action) in Milan, Italy.

In the Display category of World Architecture Festival 2018 the Vietnamese practice Vo Trong Nghia VTN Architects has been shortlisted for their Bamboo stalactite and Robabecciah for The Egyptian National Pavilion “ – The Informal City” both exposed at the Venice Biennale 2018. Shortlisted as well the installation hausEmotion, exposed during last Fuorisalone at the Interni House in Motion events,  by Istanbul based office Tabanlioglu Architects.
